Project Title: Virtual Enterprises for Integrated Industrial Solutions (VERITAS) Project Duration: 19 months Funding Authority: European Commission FP6 Type of Instrument: Specific Support Action Status: Completed
Project Objectives The overall objective of the VERITAS project is to increase the dynamics of European manufacturing companies by supporting their transformation towards agile enterprises. The ambitious goal is to help machine tool companies to understand and implement the concept of virtual enterprises, enabled through business process orientation, a new business culture and supported by the use of Information Technology, in particular cross-organisation Work Management solutions. VERITAS’ concrete objectives are designed as follows, focusing on 3 pilot countries; Turkey, Austria and Belgium: - Awareness building among the machine manufactory sector in abovementioned 3 countries, on virtual enterprises (cooperative networks) - Generalizing the concept and the implementation of virtual enterprises - Creating pilot cooperative networks Project Consortium Participant organisation name | Participant org. short name | Country | 1. TAGES Role - Project coordination in Turkey on behalf of MIB: Technical and administrative management, coordination of the consortium - Management of cooperative networks established in the Turkish machine manufactory sector. Project Outputs - 2 cooperative networks within the machine manufactory sector in Turkey, 1 in Austria and 1 in Belgium are created. - Training organised in Turkey on how to implement cooperative networks are given in the machine manufactory sector. - A competence database is created. - A web based cooperative network sharing platform is built. - A handbook on creating and implementing networks is published. - Scientific articles and documentations are published. - ATIPL Cluster Booklet is published. - Agoria Conference Project is realized. - Cooperation established between Turkey and Switzerland. - An implementation guide on how to create cooperative networks is prepared and published. - A new training syllabus for the cooperative networks is prepared for the University of Vienna. 2 cooperative networks in the Turkish machine manufactory sector are created: CompressorNET and Superstructurenetwork. CompressorNET is created by 11 compressor manufacturers in order to build a strong compressor supply industry in Turkey via joint productions, capacity and expertise sharing and technology transfers. In the cadre of the network, minor compressor manufacturers abandoned compressor manufacturing and started to manufacture sector components. Superstructurenetwork is established in order to create a new market and joint productions. The network assembles 2 superstructure machine manufacturers aiming to reduce the production costs, to raise the production quality, and to get advantageous in the international competing.
