The conference held on November 22nd and 23rd, 2007 with the participation of 200 companies from 19 countries. The participation rate of Turkish institutions to the BE2 was quite high with 27 people from 22 institutions. Turkish participants drew much attention from other participants with their project ideas and high-level R&D capacities and experience.
Aalborg, is the fourth largest city of Denmark, with 120,000 inhabitants. A small, cold but cosy place in the north of Europe. There is a special term used in Danish for good ambiance and cosiness: Hygge. Hygge is all about feeling comfortable in a cosy atmosphere. ICT Conference on Research and Development, held in Aalborg in the cooperation of FP6 EASIER and SINCERE Projects on November 22nd and 23rd, 2007.

Turkish participants drew much attention from other participants with their project ideas and high-level R&D capacities and experience.
ICT conference aimed to develop transnational cooperation between ICT companies for new partnerships and encouraged SME participation in European research programmes. Furthermore big companies involved in the Conference such as Mobicom from Norway and Beko, Turkcell fromTurkey.
The 2 day conference included informative sessions on new FP opportunities, IPR, New EU R&D Programmes such as Eurostar, workshops where project ideas presented, and match-making sessions bringing together the interested parties. The conference and the nature of meetings gave the participants the opportunity to present and discuss innovative ideas to develop new projects. EASIER and SINCERE project partners who were present in the event, supported the companies in project modelling and advised them to which programme the proejct ideas shoud be submitted. The companies which have relevant project ideas for FP7 have been informed about the opportunities and procedures of FP7. Companies having more market oriented innovative project ideas have been informed about EUREKA and Eurostars Programmes.
During the conference, especially through the match making sessions, participants expressed their area of interest to other participants and tried to model the project ideas together. As claimed from many participants the fruitful results have been expected as a result of these match-making activities.

2nd ICT Brokerage Event is part of the FP6 EASIER project www.eti-easier.org, funded by the European Union, which seeks to increase the ICT research activity and strengthen the competitiveness of ICT SMEs.
