TAGES participated in the EIT Deep Tech Talent Skills Days 2024 on 12-13 November 2024 in Warsaw, Poland, together with leaders and innovators from across Europe. This gathering demonstrated a shared commitment to advancing deep tech and fostering talent development across a range of sectors. EIT Deep Tech Talent Skills Days 2024 was a strong step for TAGES with ideas and connections that promise to create new possibilities for future EIT and EU projects.
A highlight of the event was that TAGES was honored as one of the top 15 out of 97 applicants for Trust4Future, a collaboration with Edinburgh Napier University and the Istanbul Blockchain Women Association. Our Trust4Future project was part of the EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative Call for Training Proposals 2024 Results: Showcasing Successful Proposals, which aims to train 600 people, 300 of whom are women, in cybersecurity and blockchain. This project, a partnership with Edinburgh Napier University and Istanbul Blockchain Women Association, highlights our commitment to cybersecurity and digital trust, while also ensuring that this area is essential for the secure digital future of the participating countries and Europe.
Over the two days, the sessions were in key areas that align with TAGES’s vision and mission. Talks on quantum computing, particularly cryptography, highlighted the transformative potential of EIT in sectors such as AI in education, manufacturing, healthcare and food, while work on cybersecurity highlighted the need for international collaboration to build resilience in the face of increasing digital threats. These sessions highlighted areas where TAGES aims to make a lasting impact by advancing research and technology that can improve security across Europe. There were also special sessions on talent and training.
Panel discussions on Deep Tech Talent Development, Entrepreneurship and Impact and the Impact of AI on Talent and Education provided actionable insights. As TAGES aims to deepen its involvement in EIT and EU projects, these panels highlighted strategies for nurturing the next generation of talent in the deep tech sector and supporting entrepreneurs who are fit for a digital society. The emphasis on the role of AI in shaping talent acquisition and training aligns with TAGES’s commitment to adaptable, future-oriented approaches in workforce development and education.
By engaging with the EIT Deep Tech Talent community, such meetings not only provide valuable insights, but also a network of partners and resources that strengthen our capacity for impactful contributions.
Looking ahead, TAGES aims to expand into emerging areas such as digital identity wallet, smart cities, cybersecurity, as well as quantum computing, AI in manufacturing, sustainable food technologies and skills management; all critical areas shaping the European technological landscape.
This event was a powerful reminder of the power of the community in supporting deep tech learning progress. Looking ahead, TAGES is excited to deepen collaborations with Istanbul Blockchain Women Association, Edinburgh Napier University, EIT and European organisations to drive the next wave of innovation and talent development for a safe, sustainable and prosperous Europe.
