The Trust4Future Project marked an important milestone on March 26, 2025, with the successful completion of its first training module, “Introduction to Cybersecurity.” Funded by the European Union under the EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative, the project is delivered in partnership by TAGES, Edinburgh Napier University, and Istanbul Blockchain Women (ISTBCW).

This opening module brought together a dynamic community of over 323 participants, demonstrating the strong demand for accessible and high-impact training in digital trust and cybersecurity.
Highlights from the First Module
Led by Prof. Bill Buchanan of Edinburgh Napier University, the session introduced learners to the fundamentals of cryptography, using real-world examples to ground theoretical knowledge in practical application. Participants explored case studies, completed interactive quizzes, and joined a hands-on workshop. Practical tools like Mentimeter were used for real-time knowledge checks and collaboration. The session also featured a panel introducing the Trust4Future partners, represented by Leyla Arsan, TAGES CEO, Prof. Dr. Bill Buchanan, Cryptology professor in Edinburgh Napier University and Dr. Çağla Gül Şenkardeş, associated professor in Bilgi University by the moderation of Ayşegül Şensoy, the Chairwoman of Istanbul Blockchain Women Association and the project's mission and story to the participants. Participants were guided through the importance of digital trust by both Whitfield Diffie, pioneer of public-key cryptography, co-inventor of the Diffie-Hellman key exchange method and Ayşe Kalkan Çifçibaşı, certified information security manager in Turkish Airlines, offering invaluable insights into the future of cryptographic security.
The enthusiasm and active participation throughout the session underscored the value of inclusive, skill-driven learning as we prepare a new generation of professionals to lead in the deep tech landscape.
